Visa credit cards were created in 1976. It was made from the BankAmericard that was issued
by the Bank of America. The card had many different names in different coutrys. In France it was called Carte Bleue, or the blue card In the UK it was known as Barclaycard The word Visa got started when the founder, Dee Hock, realized that the word was recognizable in almost every language.
